This tells you so much

The following is from “Cobra II”. This is a meeting that took place during the march to Baghdad.

“The most striking moment of the meeting came when Franks said he did not want to hear about casualties, even though no one had mentioned any. At that point, he put his hand to his mouth and made a yawning motion, as if to suggest that some casualties were not of major consequence to the attack. Nobody argued openly with Franks’s (sic). The CENTCOM commander was unloading on them and they would ride out his behavior. McKiernan’s deputies who attended the meeting, however, were shocked. Albert Whitley, McKiernan’s top British deputy, was furious at Franks’ cavalier attitude about casualties – Royal Marines had been killed on the opening night of the war and an American Patriot unit has mistakenly shot down a British Tornado, killing its two-man crew.”

Enlightening, isn’t it?

Speaking of enlightening pieces, here’s something from another source that will make you want to toss something large and heavy right through your monitor. This is a long article so get comfy before you begin reading. Once you begin reading, you won’t want to stop for anything.
