A Cottage With A Touch of the Irish

Happy St. Patrick's Day to you!  Are you wearing your green today?  We've just returned from a quick trip to the coast.  We had three whole days there, and even though it rained all day Saturday, we still had a wonderful time.  It's always good to get away when we have a chance.

While we were in the area, we spent some time in Southport, one of my very favorite places in the world.  We took some more house pictures, and I'll share those with you later.  Today, I want to show you this cute cottage where the owner apparently has a love for all things Irish.

The cottage itself is small but loaded with charm.

Notice the Ireland banner on the left side of the porch and the shamrock on the front door.

You can just get a glimpse of the lace curtains in the window here.  I love these old-fashioned shutters.

A Celtic cross...

This little house sits on a corner lot.  I had just planned to take a few snaps of the house, but as I walked across the yard back towards the street, I was captivated by her cute, cottage garden.

I love the whimsy of this rock with the face carved in it.  :)

Here's another Celtic knot pattern on the base of this bird bath.

There are so many great garden ideas here in this one yard.

This was one of my favorites.

A pretty Camellia bush in bloom around back.

These glass chimes were making such a nice sound in the breeze -- so pretty when the light hits them.  I love all the garden art here and the great little front porch, but one of the very best things about this cottage --

is the view.

Thanks so much for your visit and Happy St. Patrick's Day!
