Autumn Dining Room

A few weeks ago I had a burst of energy after work.
Some white pumpkins on Pinterest proved to be too irresistible.
I saw some adorable pumpkins pinned from Time Washed in which antique brooches were used to decorate around the base of the stem.

I made a slew of fabric pumpkins two years ago but I gave them all away in a fit of cleaning this past summer. They were too big anyway. In no time I had a couple of diminutive pumpkins just right for some vintage pins.

This one is tucked in an old iron stone bowl with two black/brown velvet pumpkins.

The color on these velvet beauties is so dark brown that it reads black in my gray dining room.
I've been smitten with black and white since this summer so this was fine by me.

Bill and I were at the grocery store one night about a month ago. The floral department had some green branches with little orange berries on the end. They are called Hypericum berries. I had hoped they would dry, and they did, but instead of orange, the berries turned black.

I was okay with that also.

The rest of the room is very simple.
The black painted Christmas cottages from Dollar Tree last year are back in the china hutch.

The secretary got just one white, lacy pumpkin tucked behind the doors

and a painting on top.

It was all inspired by a pumpkin and a pin.

Thanks for stopping in.
Katie
