What happened To Luke Treadaway's northern accent?
From the ingenuity of The Rise to the predictability of Get Lucky. The two ends of the British crime drama spectrum - and Treadaway stars in both. In The Rise he was a Northerner and here he is a Cockney.
He plays Lucky, a getaway driver who has got on the wrong side of some local hoodlums to the tune of £200,000.
Thus, he joins his brother (TJ Ramini) and some pals to arrange a heist at a casino which will garner enough cash to pay them off.
The complication is that they don't know that the casino is owned by the crime lord (James Cosmo) to whom he is hock.
Cosmo is as fiery as ever as the foreign hard nut and his enforcers are played by Craig Fairbrass and Terry Stone.
Whenever I see this pair's names on cast lists my heart sinks. Between them they have played in a glut of embarrassingly bad British pictures.
Fairbrass's latest was the truly awful Bula Quo! Sacha Bennett's film is not that bad but is very typical of the type of mindless misogynistic Brit crime flick with which Fairbrass, Stone and Billy Murray are usually associated.
Murray is missing here as Fairbrass and Stone try to play a pair of comedy goons with a very rough edge. The problem is they just ain't funny.
Get Lucky isn't as utterly terrible as the likes of The Rise Of The Foot Soldier but it comes out of the same bracket and I was left wondering why it was worth making.
Its storyline is weak and its acting poor. I watched it only yesterday (on iTunes) but it is already starting to seep from my memory.
